For the Love of Books

The Friends of the Claremont Library For The Love of Books Committee presented "The Real Lives of Claremont's Book Groups"  at Mt. San Antonio Gardens on April 27, 2025. The presentation focused on who the Claremont book groups are, what characterizes their reading preferences, how our groups function and why we come together.

Local book group expert Diane Tickton Schuster, pictured below, took us on a journey through the history of book groups. Friends of the Claremont Library Board Member Laura Mulroy shared thoughtful insights from a survey of local readers. Laughter, memories, and a few new friendships filled the afternoon.

2025 FTLOB Co-Hosts were Rose Ash, Penny Garris, Brenda Barham Hill, Laura Mulroy, Lanore Pearlman, Margaret Russell, Sandi Shannon, Diane Tickton Schuster

Attendees received a copy of this year's For the Love of Books Compendium, a bright yellow packet listing what 44 Claremont book groups read in 2024.
