About Our Bookstore
​The Friends of the Claremont Library Bookstore stock changes frequently and includes many best-sellers. Unique treasures can be found in the glass cases.

Library Fine Book Sale
   December 2– December 31  
The Friends of the Claremont Library have been collecting some of the most gorgeous, rare, whimsical, precious, literary, and colorful books in print, all donated by our generous community members.

• Books about California and local history, about birding, and about wildflowers 
• Autographed copies of significant books
• Books published by specialty printers, some rare and very valuable
• Many children’s books, old and newer, with fabulous illustrations.  
• Specialty books:  graphic novels, cutting-edge design, movie production, the opera, fine trains, planes, automobiles and ships.  And travel books, old and new, to every corner of the globe.
• Amazing collections of early and later classics in history, sociology, biology, botany, psychology, and religion. 
• Specialties in history:  the Civil War, Indian history and arts, classics of Greece and Rome, as well as first editions and fine reprints of significant works of literature – fiction and nonfiction
• Our real specialty is beautiful books about art and artists, sculpture, photography, and museum shows – actually, all the fine arts.  Find prized cookbooks and works highlighting gardens of the world, architecture, interior design, fashion, dance, Hollywood icons, sports, games, toys, and dolls – all that intrigue our aesthetic senses.   

Special books are located in the display case and on two large burgundy carts located in the entrance/checkout area of the library. For those who love a good bargain or are searching for rare finds, we have a smaller burgundy cart that holds “Old Books, Older Books, Really Old Books, and  Antiques” for $1.00 each. 

At the book lovers' Fine Book Sale, there is something for everyone on your list - including you! 
                                             
All funds raised from this sale will support the Claremont Library. We accept cash or check payments. Thank you for your support!

DOnations - Books Wanted!

The Friends of the Claremont Library Bookstore seeks a diverse range of gently used books and media. We welcome classics, hardback and paperback fiction, children's books, art, travel, biographies, self-help, recent textbooks, history/political science, and other general non-fiction, as well as records, CDs, DVDs, and books on tape. Perhaps it's time to make room for new additions to your collection!   
We accept:

• Books (paperback or hardcover) in good condition
• Textbooks less than 2 years old
• Working CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes
• Dictionaries

We DON'T accept

• Damaged or mildewed books
• Magazines or professional journals
• Cassettes
• Outdated textbooks

Donating is a breeze! Simply leave your donations on the cart inside the east door of the library. You can drop off your donations any time the library is open. If you need help bringing them in, someone at the library can assist you.

If you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes, please request one from the checkout desk.

Every book you donate is a step towards a better library. All funds from Bookstore sales help the Friends support the Claremont Library.
