A dedicated committee of local poets and poetry lovers arrange a monthly poetry program that includes many award-winning and local poets. Their monthly presentations have a loyal following of poetry lovers. They are usually held on the 4th Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. in the meeting room at the library. The alternate meeting space is the Claremont Forum, 568 W. First St. (in the Packing House). Find their Facebook page here.
Join the group on SUNDAY MAY 26 at 2 p.m. to hear two poets, Larry Colker and Karen An-hwei Lee. Mr. Colker has hosted the weekly Redondo Poets reading series for 15 years. His poems have appeared in many anthologies and print and online journals. His first book-length collection, Amnesia and Wings, was published in 2013. Mr. Colker lives in Burbank and works for Kaiser Permanente by day.
Ms. Lee is the author of Phyla of Joy (2012), Ardor (2008) and In Media Res (2004), winner of the Norma Farber First Book Award. She holds a PhD in English from U.C. Berkeley, is a novice harpist, and lives and teaches in L.A.
As usual, light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
